RUTH WRIGHT is a former state representative for the state of Colorado. Ruth visited Machu Picchu, Peru with a team of hydrologists from Wright Water Engineers, which included her husband, Kenneth Wright, also from Wright Paleohydrological Society. With a permit from the Instituto Nacional de Cultura de Peru, they, along with coauthor, Alfredo Valencia Zegarra, conducted ongoing studies regarding the Incan water systems and various archeological studies relevant to this ancient site. The book, The Machu Picchu Guidebook, is an outgrowth of their work and after selling over 100,000 copies has become the book to bring on your visit to Machu Picchu or an evening in a comfy chair.
